Assistive Technology Development, Inc. (ATDev) has engaged disAbled Life Alliance to support its capital strategy and next stage of commercialization.
The engagement will focus on strategic positioning, commercialization planning, investor readiness, relationship development, and coordinated execution.
Founded in 2020 by Owen Kent and Todd Roberts, ATDev develops personal robotic rehabilitation and mobility technologies designed to expand independence for older adults and people with disabilities. The company grew from Owen’s lived experience as an assistive technology user and research conducted at UC Berkeley.
The company’s current growth strategy centers on RAMMP, its robotic wheelchair platform emerging from the Robotic Assistive Mobility and Manipulation Platform, or RAMMP, program.
ATDev is participating in the federally funded RAMMP program led by the University of Pittsburgh Human Engineering Research Laboratories. The $41M, five-year program brings together research, clinical, technology, and industry partners to develop an advanced robotic mobility platform intended to help wheelchair users complete more daily activities independently.
The program provides ATDev with a defined technical development pathway and substantial non-dilutive support. The company’s next priority is coordinating the capital, relationships, and commercialization planning required to carry that progress through its remaining milestones.
