Overview of ReviMo

5.2 million people in the U.S. are unable to get out of bed independently. They need assistance from family or professional caregivers to perform basic hygiene tasks. This constant dependency causes embarrassment, mental and physical decline, and imposes a big burden on caregivers. 1.7M nursing assistants get back injuries every year, and the most common reason is patient handling. The annual cost of staff back injuries in U.S. healthcare is $20Bn annually.

ReviMo creates the first robotic lift and transfer device that allows individuals with mobility challenges to safely get out of bed and do self-care tasks independently.

The idea of ReviMo is inspired by the founder’s experience of taking care of his paralyzed grandfather. It was embarrassing for him to ask for assistance to perform simple everyday tasks such as toileting and moving around the house. He always wanted to get back the dignity of taking care of himself. None of the existing patient lifting devices can be safely used by people with disabilities without assistance.

At ReviMo, we aim to change it and give dignity back to people with limited mobility.

Our Ask

We are looking for:

  • Connections to investors and access to grant funding to launch serial production on our device, ReviMo Niko
  • Promotion within disability communities to build awareness around our product
  • Connections to potential customers: individuals, skilled nursing, assisted living facilities, and rehab centers.
  • Strategic partnerships with distributors, manufacturers of mobility equipment, and insurance companies.

Product or Service

ReviMo Niko is a robotic transfer device that uses a remote control and a unique patent-pending seating technology, which allows a user to easily retrieve ReviMo Niko to a bed, safely lift themselves, and move around to take care of themselves. ReviMo Niko allows the use of a regular toilet from the device, to access objects on a standing level, and has integrated rehabilitation features.

Company Impact

At ReviMo, we are restoring access to a fundamental human right of independent self-care for millions of people with mobility impairments, while reducing the cost and burden on the healthcare system in a time of a growing shortage of caregivers.

ReviMo technology is protected by four patent applications.

Primary Audience

People who will benefit from ReviMo include those with SCI, arthrogryposis, muscular dystrophy, MS, ALS, SMA, Cerebral Palsy, and other conditions, when people cannot ambulate safely. ReviMo Niko can also drastically simplify the lives of their caregivers.

Skilled nursing facilities and rehab centers can also greatly benefit from ReviMo due to a more efficient transfer process with fewer nurses needed for transfer and eliminating the risk of back injuries.

Partnership Opportunity

We are looking to collaborate on piloting our technology and collecting data on ReviMo Niko use.

We are open to partnerships with the payors, such as Veterans Affairs, public and private insurance companies, that are interested in reducing costs and improving the quality of care.
