Overview of Live in Motion Foundation

Vision
A future where every person can receive transformative mobility care

Mission
We advance the people and ideas that restore mobility, independence, and quality of life.

Formerly the Orthotics and Prosthetics Foundation for Education and Research (O&P Foundation), the Live in Motion Foundation is the only national 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated exclusively to advancing orthotic, prosthetic, and pedorthic care.

We invest in the people and ideas that restore mobility, independence, and quality of life through scholarships, professional development, research funding, and strategic initiatives.

By supporting clinicians, researchers, educators, and future professionals, we strengthen the mobility care workforce and accelerate innovations that improve outcomes for millions of people who rely on mobility care every day.

Our Ask

The Live in Motion Foundation is seeking philanthropic investment to build a permanent endowment that will sustain and expand our impact for generations to come. As the nation’s only public charity dedicated exclusively to advancing orthotic, prosthetic, and pedorthic (OP&P) care, we rely on charitable contributions to fund scholarships, workforce development, research, and professional education programs that improve mobility and quality of life. We welcome conversations with individual donors, family foundations, corporations, and strategic partners interested in making transformational investments that will strengthen the future of mobility care and ensure long-term support for the people and ideas that restore independence and opportunity.

Core Programs

The Live in Motion Foundation is the nation’s only public charity dedicated exclusively to advancing the people and ideas that improve mobility through orthotic, prosthetic, and pedorthic (OP&P) care. We invest in scholarships, professional education, workforce development, clinical research, and innovation initiatives that strengthen the mobility care ecosystem. Through grants, fellowships, awards, and strategic partnerships, we support students, clinicians, researchers, and emerging leaders who are working to improve patient outcomes, expand access to care, and advance evidence-based mobility solutions.

Needs

The Live in Motion Foundation welcomes collaboration with healthcare organizations, industry partners, academic institutions, disability advocacy groups, researchers, and philanthropic organizations. Opportunities include co-funding research initiatives, sponsoring educational and workforce development programs, supporting professional conference access, developing evidence-based care resources, advancing innovation in mobility technology, and creating programs that elevate the voices and lived experiences of individuals who use orthotic, prosthetic, and pedorthic care. Together, we can expand access to mobility services and improve outcomes for millions of people living with mobility challenges.
