Overview of Kinsome
Kinsome was founded several years ago with an initial mission of fostering stronger intergenerational bonds within families. During 2025, we noticed that the biggest power users of our gamified video calling feature were largely families with kids on the autism spectrum. As we explored how advancements in AI could unlock new ways to measure conversational performance within a video call, we recognized tremendous potential to help teens and young adults on the autism spectrum practice self-identified social skills while getting quantitative progress tracking and personalized feedback.
Our Ask
We are raising a small ($300-500k) pre-seed extension round as we wait on three large grant opportunities to play out in early 2026.
Product or Service
Kinsome is a video-based communication platform focused on improving cross-neurotype communication and helping quantitatively track progress around self-identified “social skills goals.” We use an AI layer in the background of the call to analyze the image, audio and transcript in order to inform real-time coaching, personalized feedback reports, and measurable progress tracking. Our initial focus is on people on the autism spectrum, but it’s important to note that we provide feedback to both sides of the platform to coach on how they might adapt their communication to drive better connection and shared understanding.
Company Impact
Kinsome is filling a gap for teens and young adults who need more practice and personalized coaching as they seek to build cross-neurotype relationships in their professional and personal lives. Most autism services and platforms focus on younger kids, leaving this older age-group under-supported, underemployed, and far more likely to experience depression.
Primary Audience
For now, we are focused on autistic teens and young adults, as well as their families.
Partnership Opportunity
We are talking with a number of types of therapists, counselors, and educational programs about potential partnerships, positioning Kinsome as a “homework” platform that can provide more quantitative progress tracking to the teens/young adults, their families, and partners like therapists.
Funding Needs
We are raising a small pre-seed extension of $300-500k as we work through several very large non-dilutive grant processes and partnership discussions.
